I was a school teacher in the Manchester area before coming to Santa Pola in search of a better climate for the health of our eldest son. I hold the title of Spanish Insurance Mediator having qualified as a broker in 1994. As a member of the Alicante Colegio de Mediadores I am kept up to date in all aspects of insurance law. I enjoy travel, music and family life especially with my two young grandsons. As well as speaking Spanish I also speak German and French.

I moved to Spain in 2003 and started work within my sister's brokerage. My previous work background was so very different to insurance. So.... a new life, a new career and a new challenge all of which I have embraced with gusto, not forgetting a fast track into the Spanish language. I enjoy watching football and I offer no apologies for naming Manchester United as one of the great loves of my life! I also do a mean rendition of Meatloaf's “Bat out of Hell”

I started my working career in my home town Barcelona with Commercial Union Spain. I married a Torrevieja man and settled on the Costa Blanca more than 20 years ago. I have worked uninterruptedly in insurance with the Linda Rowland brokerage for many years. Amongst my hobbies are sailing, painting and photography. My languages are Spanish, Catalan and English.

I came to Spain from Finland in 1999 and enjoy the way of life. My work is varied and includes customer relations, writing policies and accounting  and the use of Finnish, Spanish and English.

Muutimme avomieheni kanssa asumaan ja työskentelemään Torreviejaan vuonna 1999. Vuosien varrella olemme auttaneet erityisesti suomalaisia kiinteistönvälitys-asioissa, tietokone neuvonnassa sekä vakuutusasioissa.

Suomessa ollessani toimin lähes 15 vuotta suuren perheyhtiön ostosihteerinä.

Pidän eläimistä, erityisesti koirista, lisäksi harrastuksiini kuuluu pyöräïly ja maalaaminen. Puhun myös espanjaa ja englantia.

Linda and I worked in Spain in 1972 and enjoyed Spanish life so much we came back out with our two children to live here in 1982. I initially worked as the South Alicante agent for Guardian Royal Exchange and I have been involved wholeheartedly in insurance since, culminating in the opening of our own brokerage in 1994. Building and mountaineering are amongst my many hobbies and I keep fit by running and cycling in the Santa Pola half marathon and duathlon. If there were 48 hours in every day I'd also be sailing and snowboarding.
